MFT Sketch Challenge #339 & Color Challenge #72

I used one of my new favourite stamp set for this card - You Make My Tail Wag.
The images and sentiments in this set are just so adorable and fun you can make a whole range of different cards for different occasions.

I stamped the images in Versafine Onyx Black Ink which I then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. This is the first time I attempted to use my Zig Brush Color Markers so I wanted something a little more simple to start with! I found that heat embossing the outlines of the image stopped the colors from running.
I used the small brick wall stencil and MFT Cement Gray Premium Dye ink pad for the background design.
I then used the window die set to cut out the window from plain white cardstock - adding some vellum to the back for the window panes.
The small dog bowl was stuck behind the window before placing the whole thing onto the wall background.
I added this onto a variety of different colored backgrounds, using this week's color challenge #72 for inspiration.
I added some stitching with a white uni-ball gel pen and stamped the sentiment from the set using Versamark Watermark ink. I then heat embossed this with fine white embossing powder.

I used the current sketch #339 and the current color challenge #72 for this card:

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Anything Goes'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable image from this month's Clear & Rubber stamp release over at the Whimsy Stamps store. This is the 'Life's a Beach' clear stamp set by Crissy Armstrong. The set contains 3 cute images and 6 sentiments.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out.
The sentiment is from the set, which I cut out using Whimsy Stamps 'Stitched Tag Dies'.
The window frame was made using 2 of the 'Stitched Dome STAX' dies from My Favorite Things, which I then 'popped up' on pop dots.
The black and white patterned papers are from Doodlebug's 'Kraft in color - color' 6x6 paper pad.
Some bakers twine and enamel dots finished the card off!

We are sponsored this week by Star Stampz, a great prize as always!

Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Floating

As you all must know by now - I LOVE Crissy Armstrong's penguin images!!
This one is no exception!
This rubber stamp is called 'Penguin Floating', available at the
Whimsy Stamps store.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils, fussy cut it out and added a little glossy accents to the inflatable for a little shine.
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps
'Everyday Mini Sentiments' clear stamp set.
The papers are from Echo Park's 'Let's Be Mermaids' and
Doodlebug's 'Under the Sea' 6x6 paper pads.
Some die cuts from my stash, bakers twine and enamel dots finish the card off!

Cute Card Thursday - Sea/Beach

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Sea/Beach'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable image from this month's Clear & Rubber stamp release over at the Whimsy Stamps store - 'Penguin Beach Chair' by Crissy Armstrong.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out.
I used a steel die from My Favorite Things - 'Sunny Skies' - to cut out the sun, which I decided to place off the corner of the card.
The palm trees were cut out of scrap papers using Lawn Fawn's 'Palm Trees' dies.
The sentiment was from a tag set in my stash.
I hand cut the sea and beach shapes from a variety of papers from my stash.

MFT Camp Create 2017 Bonus Challenge - Divine Dry Embossing

So excited to be taking part in My Favorite Things Camp Create - I've actually finished all of the challenges before the deadline!!

using die cuts to emboss rather than cut.

I used Birdie Brown's 'Adorable Elephants' stamp set for the images, which I colored with prismacolor pencils and fussy cut out.
I used the Die-namics Bold Stripes die to emboss the background paper (unfortunately because of the small pattern on the paper it doesn't show up as well).
I then used the Big Thanks die set - adding the negative of the die cut to the card for a bolder sentiment.
The papers are from Doodlebug's 'swiss dot rainbow petite prints' 6x6 paper pad.

I'm so happy to have earned my bonus badge!!

MFT Camp Create 2017 Day 5 - Glitzy Glitter

So excited to be taking part in My Favorite Things Camp Create - almost finished all the challenges :)

I used 'Chill Wishes' for the image and sentiment. I colored the image with prismacolor pencils and used the coordinating die set to cut it out.
I used the Die-namics Chill Wishes set to cut out the trees and then glittered them as in the tutorial on the blog.
I used the Die-namics Snow Drifts die to cut out the slopes, and then hand pierced the dots running along the edges to give them more definition.
I used papers from my stash to add a little color, and then added enamel dots to resemble snow to finish the card off!

I'm so happy to have earned my fifth badge!!

MFT Camp Create 2017 Day 4 - Sensational Sliders

So excited to be taking part in My Favorite Things Camp Create - hoping to get all of the challenges completed!

For the front of the card I used the 'For Owl You Do' stamp set. I colored the image with my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out.
The sentiment was from the set also, but has 2 lines of writing on it - I only wanted the top line to be stamped on this portion. I used washi tape to cover the bottom line, inked the stamp with black ink and then removed the washi tape before stamping. This way, there was only ink on the top line of the stamp and it meant I didn't have to cut the stamp in half.
I cut out the sentiment using a die from the Blueprint Set #29.
The papers are from Doodlebug's 'kraft in color - color' 6x6 paper pad. I used the 'Die-namics stitched scallop basic edge' die set to cut out the scalloped border, and then used the 'Die-namics square peek-a-boo window' die in the middle for more color and interest.
The banner were cut using the dies from the Blueprints Set #29, along with the circle/heart. As the paper I was cutting was double sided, I decided to use both parts of the die, flipping the card over for a different color and pattern.

For the slider section of my card, I used the same 'For Owl You Do' stamp set, coloring the images with my prismacolor pencils.
I used the same method as earlier for stamping out the bottom line of the sentiment.
The balloon was stamped from Birdie Brown's 'Adorable Elephants' stamp set. Again, I wanted to change up the string on the balloon - I wanted something a little curvier to fit in between the owls and sentiment. I used washi tape to cover the straight string attached to the balloon before stamping, and then used one of the other stamps in the set for the string.
I used the Blueprints Set #29 to cut out the stitched rectangle base outline and then added the colored tab from the set to match in with the front of the card.

I'm so happy to have earned my fourth badge!!

Whimsy Stamps - Paws to Remember

This is only my second ever animal sympathy card, but these new dies and stamps from the Whimsy Stamps store are just so adorable!

I used the 'Paws to Remember' die set to cut out the paw prints from the kraft cardstock and then backed this card onto another piece of kraft cardstock as the whole of the inside of the paw is removed with die cutting. I then cut out the paw prints from black and red cardstock and reassembled the prints.

I used the 'Irreplaceable Friend' clear stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

I added a little white gel pen on the hearts to add a little depth to the shapes, and added a simple 'xoxo' at the bottom also. The washi tape and twine down the side of the card finished it off.

MFT Camp Create 2017 Day 3 - Spectacular Shakers

So excited to be taking part in My Favorite Things Camp Create - perfect timing for me as I had a week on my own crafting!!

I used Birdie Brown's 'Adorable Elephants' stamp set for the images and sentiment. I colored the images with prismacolor pencils and fussy cut them out.
I used the Die-namics 'Square Peek-a-Boo window' for the shaker panel which I backed with acetate. I added sequin circles and hearts to the shaker.
I also used a little cardstock from Doodlebug's 'kraft in color - color' 6x6 paper pad to add a little definition for the sentiment banner. A small enamel dot finished the card off!

I'm so happy to have earned my third badge!!

MFT Camp Create 2017 Day 2 - Remarkable Resist

So excited to be taking part in My Favorite Things Camp Create - perfect timing for me as I had a week on my own crafting!!

Day 2's camp session was all about stamping, heat embossing and inking! I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers with water to create my watercolor effect background.

I colored the images from Birdie Brown's 'You Gnome Me' stamp set with prismacolor pencils and fussy cut them out. The sentiment is from the same set.
I popped up some clouds and added some dark blue cardstock behind the main card panel
 for a little definition.

I'm so happy to have earned my second badge!!
