My Little Shoebox 'Sweetheart' Sketch

My Little Shoebox are currently having a 'sweetheart' sketch competition - I've only just finished mine in time! The competition closes at midnight tonight!!! Whew! Nothing like cutting it fine!!

Imaginisce & Child's Play challenge!

So, I decided to combine a couple of challenges again!
The Imaginisce challenge was to use this sketch:

along with 3 different patterned papers and 3 different types of embellishments.
The challenge at Child's Play is to be inspired by 'Lincoln logs' - I will admit that I had no clue what they were and so had to look them up on the internet!
The challenge at Frosted Designs was to use ribbon or twine on a layout.
Here is what I came up with:

Sketch and manufacturer challenge!

I combined a number of challenges to create this layout.
I used a sketch from Grand Diva's scrappy corner:

I combined it with a manufacturer challenge (Basic Grey) over on Paper secrets, I used 2 pins which is a challenge over on Colorful Creations, and then used torn paper and handwriting which is one of the challenges over on Basic Grey! Whew! I must say though - this is one of my favorite layouts and I just ADORE this photo!

My next Inspired By challenge over on Colorful Creations is Inspired By Valentines! (Of course!! We are now in February! Where did January go??!) Here it is:

Welcome to the first of 2 Inspired By challenges for the month of February! With Valentine's Day approaching and romance in the air, what better inspiration than a Valentine's party inspiration. Your challenge is to create a traditional or digi layout, card or project, using the picture as inspiration. You can choose the colors or elements (e.g.. the owls) as inspiration.

I found this new website from a friend's blog - Child's Play Challenges - and when I mean a new site it has literally just gotten up and running! It is a challenge blog that uses only children's toys and games as inspiration!!! I have so many photos left to scrap of my children growing up (and I know there will be lots more in the future!) that I thought this site was perfect! Their current challenge is to use this toy as inspiration:

So I am now officially in charge of the CC Greetings challenges over on Colorful Creations! This is new for me - I'm not really a card maker but I am loving the challenge and responsibility it brings with it! Here is my first challenge:

The first of this month's CC Greetings challenge is to have an "Oriental" theme. It is Chinese New year on the 23rd of this month and I thought this would make a great challenge! It is being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps.

Stitchy Bear Stamps will be generously awarding the random chosen winner of this challenge, a $10 gift certificate (valid on the following creators: Stitchy Stamps, Floppy Latte Designs and Sylvie Stamps).

Domestic goddess!!!

So, I'm sure you all know, I am into making fondant cakes!! Well, Nia has been watching me carefully over the last few months and decided she wanted to decorate a cake of her own! She spent over an hour looking through my cake books to find 'the right one' - and here is the finished result! She completed most of the birds on her own! She was SO proud! :-)

I am entering this layout into the BoBunny Layout challenge friday - Inspired By Circles. I used Bo Bunny's Sweet tooth collection, and a sketch from Pagemaps.

Inspired By - "A Christmas Tale"

This is the second of two challenges for this month over on Colorful Creations, inspired by the movie "A Christmas Tale". I saw this poster and thought it would be a fantastic layout for a page.

Challenge Rule:

Christmas theme.
Use the layout of the poster for your page (you may use one large photo and cut up as per poster, or you may use 6 smaller photos arranged as per poster)
must have a ribbon on the top
use mainly red and white color combo, some kraft is permitted

This one definitely caused me the most problems! I struggled to get the flowers right - wasting about 4 sheets of 12x12 papers!!! It nearly got thrown out of the window!!! Not overly happy with the end result, but I don't think it looks too bad!!

Create a layout themed around a Disney movie, song, character or a visit to one of the Disney theme parks. Your title or your journaling must include one of the following:

I decided to combine 2 challenges into 1 layout. The 'Freehand scraps sketch contest' over on Page maps blog which was to follow this sketch:

This is the second 'Inspired by' challenge I am setting over on Colorful Creations - please come on over and take a look. There are some great challenges and fab prizes to be won :-)

This is one of my all time favorite bands. My parents grew up in Liverpool, UK – the home of ‘The Beatles’ – and so were HUGE fans! Hence, I grew up listening to all of their music! This song is one of my favorites.

WooHoo! I made the design team over on Colorful Creations!!! This is a fab site with lots of great challenges and prizes to win! If you haven't already visited - please come on over - you'll soon be hooked!! :-)

So for my first 'official' challenge I have been given the category 'Inspired By' - here is what I came up with for the first attempt!! :-)

I can't believe we are already into July!! Where did June go?! Anyway, my family and I all went to the local market and were 'Inspired By' the farmer's organic fruit and veg. So much so that both children decided they wanted to go and buy some tomato and strawberry plants to grow in the garden. Hence - this challenge came about.

Create a traditional OR digi layout using this picture to 'Inspire' you! It certainly inspired all of us!!

You can use the color combo, scrap about gardening, fruit and veg, cooking...whatever comes to mind. I got SO inspired I ended up doing 2 pages!!!
