Girly 1st birthday card

I know I haven't been posting much on here - my job is keeping me SO busy! Along with gymnastics, band practice, concerts, swim team practice and swim meets....just general hustle and bustle of life really!
I made this cute card for a real 'little monkey' for her first birthday. The image is from Meljens - and it is just too cute! I colored it in with my prismacolor pencils.
I used washi tape and twine along the bottom for a bit more texture and interest.

Paper Secrets - February 15th challenge

So sorry I am late posting this! It's mad busy here at the moment!
This is the second challenge for February over on the Paper Secrets blog
Remember - there is a twist to the challenges!
Here is the sketch:
And the twist to this challenge is to use pennants! (banners etc)
For may layout, I used Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh' collection, along with MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally embellishments and stick pins.
Such cute photos - the Summer Fresh collection worked perfectly!

I'd love to see you joining in the challenge for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Secrets shop.
See you over on the Paper Secrets blog!

Happy scrapping :-)

Monday Craft Madness - ScrapbookSteals.com

It's a new month and a new chance to win lots of scrappy goodies! Remember - you have until Friday March 1st to get your entries in - the more you enter, the better chance you have.
Here is this week's theme for the Monday Craft Madness challenge #12:
"You Are...."
Finish this sentence and use it for your scrapbook title, journalling, sentiment on a card or project - the choice is yours - just have fun!
I used Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh' 6x6 paper pad, along with the pocket cutting file from The Cutting Cafe, and the WRMK tab punch from ScrapbookSteals, . I made the pocket shaped card to make it a bit more of a masculine Valentine's Day card.
For the inside card, I used Authentique mini alpha to compete the phrase "You are the cheese to my pizza!" - and I found the perfect photo to go with it too!
I then had to make a more girly card for my very girly daughter! I used Echo Park's 'Yours Truly' papers, along with the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting die and WRMK tab punch from ScrapbookSteals.
I made a gate fold card - using the button to secure the heart when closed (the heart just tucks behind the button).
Again, I used the Authentique mini alpha to make the phrase "You are the chocolate to my ice cream" - finding a perfect photo of my daughter's favorite dessert!
I hope I have inspired you to join in my challenge.
I'll see you over there!
Happy scrapping :-)

Paper Secrets - February 1st challenge

This is the first challenge for February over on the Paper Secrets blog
Remember - there is a twist to the challenges!
Here is the sketch:

And the twist to this challenge is to use chevrons!
For may layout, I used Bella Blvd's 'Thankful' collection, along with the green chevron washi tape.

I love these photos - they seem so long ago!
The journalling reads "Cai, I love how you wanted to be just like Daddy! You HAD to have all the grown up equipment! xoxo" - he was so funny - he could hardly lift the big watering can but was adamant that was the one he needed! And Mark - the cute little yellow flower watering can just suited you perfectly! :-)

I'd love to see you joining in the challenge for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Secrets shop.
See you over on the Paper Secrets blog!

I am also entering this layout into the first ever challenge over on the new blog 'About a Boy' scrapbooking challenge blog - a blog dedicated to scrapping those men and boys in your life. For their challenge, you had to introduce the men in your life.

Happy scrapping :-)
