Cute Card Thursday - Trick or Treat

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Trick or Treat'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable image the Whimsy Stamps store - 'Mister Mummy' by Krista Heij-Barber.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out.
I used the 'Shaker Builder - Sweetest Birthday' frame to make the shaker element.
The sentiment was stamped using the 'Grim Reaper' clear stamp set, which I then heat embossed to make it pop!
The papers are from My Mind's Eye collections.

Cute Card Thursday - Monochrome

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Monochrome'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I decided to use the adorable 'Penguin Sweetheart' by Crissy Armstrong, from this month's new rubber stamp release at Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils, and added a little glitter to the santa hat.
The background 'candy stripe' paper is from my stash. I used the 'Scripted Holidays' digital sentiments from Whimsy Stamps - i love these because they come in 3 different colors (black, red & green) so you can match them to your Christmas cards easily.
I used the frame die from the 'shaker builder - sweetest birthday' set from Whimsy Stamps, which I backed in vellum to soften it slightly.
I used the 'holly vine die' from Whimsy Stamps to add a little interest in the background.

Whimsy Stamps - Merry Christmas Characters

I just LOVE these christmas characters from Krista Heij-Barber. This rubber stamp set is from this month's Whimsy Stamps release and is called 'Merry Christmas Characters'. They are so versatile, they can be used for cards, tags, gift bags - perfect to make coordinating gift sets.

I decided to make them into simple gift tags for teacher gifts.
I colored the images using prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut them out.
I wanted to make simple rosette tags using papers from my stash.

I cut a strip of 12x12 patterned paper 1 1/2" wide, and scored the paper at every 1/2".
The paper is then folded backwards and forwards.

It takes a bit of fiddling with, but I then glued the 2 ends together using tombow's multipurpose glue and held it in place with a couple of mini clothes pegs. Some weight is need on top of the rosette to hold it in place whilst it sticks.

Whilst I was waiting for it to stick together, I made the rest of the elements for the tag.
I used a stitched circle die (now retired) to cut out the back of the tag and the banner die from the 'Card Builder -Many Thanks' die set - cutting off one end to make it straight. A little doodling using a white gel pen added a little more interest on the banner.
I then put all of the elements together and added it to a simple window box that I picked up on clearance at Michael's.

A very easy, cute gift box.

Cute Card Thursday - Add Banner/flags

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'add banner/flags'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

The image I chose this month from All Dressed Up Stamps is 'Christmas Penguins'.

I decided I wanted to used the classic blues and purples as the color combo, and colored my images using prismacolor pencils to match. I then fussy cut them out.
I used Blueprints #27 from My Favorite Things for the design of my card. The Blueprints collections are a variety of dies which all coordinate together to make card designing super quick & easy - I love them!
The papers are from Doodlebug's 'Polar Pals' 6x6 paper pad collection, which also included the perfect sentiment block!
A little baker's twine finished the card off.

Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Warm Winter Wishes

I just LOVE these penguins from Crissy Armstrong!
This rubber stamp is from this month's Whimsy Stamps release and is called 'Penguin Warm Winter Wishes'.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
I used the stitched circle die (now retired) to cut out the background circle, and hand cut the banner.
The sentiment is from the 'Merry & Bright' digital sentiment set.
I cut this out on a banner using the 'Card Builder - Many Thanks' die set.
The papers I used are from Simple Stories 'Classic Christmas' collection.
I added a couple of enamel dots from the Christmas Cheer collection just to highlight the banner a little.

Cute Card Thursday - Autumn/Fall

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Autumn/Fall'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super fun image from Whimsy Stamps 'Beary Fun' by Lee Holland.
This clear stamp set comes with 3 images and lots of sentiments for endless possibilities.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut it out.
I made the card into a small scene using papers from Fancy Pants 'Good Fellows' and Doodlebug's 'dot-grid-daisy-stripe rainbow petite prints' 6x6 paper pads.
I used the Whimsy Stamps 'Stitched Border Die Trio set' to create the hill, and the 'Stitched Cloud Dies' to put in the sky.
The sentiment was stamped using Whimsy Stamps 'Simple Sentiments' clear stamps set.
The card was finished off with some enamel dots from Whimsy Stamps 'Summer Breeze' collection.

Whimsy Stamps September Digital Release

Welcome to September's preview of Digital Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

All digital stamps are now available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this adorable digital image set from
Tracy Wray - 'Snowman Sheet 1'.
All of these snowmen are separate images to use separately or together, and the set also contains a number of super cute sentiments too.

I used my Silhouette software to put the snowmen together to create a single image and then printed it out. I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
I used the sentiment from the set - making it into a banner.
The colored papers are also digital - from the 'Flakes Paper' collection - printed onto plain white cardstock.
I used the 'Stitched Border Die trio' to make the snow hills.
A few snowflakes and bakers twine finish the card off!

You have just got to see what the rest of the Whimsy Digital and Rubber Team Designer Divas have created with the stamps, dies and stencils. Go check out the Whimsy Stamps & Inspiration Facebook Page and the Whimsy Inspirations Blogand leave them a little love.

Whimsy Stamps September Release Previews - Day 3

Welcome to September's preview of Clear & Rubber Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

We have 6 whole days of previews on the Whimsy Facebook page and Whimsy Inspirations Blog, with the 7th being the main release day with all of the stamps (rubber, clear & digital) and dies available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this super cute stamp from Lee Holland - Snowman's Sled Ride!
Such a happy, fun image!

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils.
I wanted to keep this image simple and so stamped the image a number of times and paper pieced it back together. The sled was paper pieced directly onto the original image after the background was colored. I then 'popped up' the hat and scarf for a little dimension.
I used the 'Christmas Time' digital sentiment, printing it out onto the card before stamping.
I added a thin red border around the image to finish the card off.

Whimsy Stamps September Release Previews - Day 1

Welcome to September's preview of Clear & Rubber Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

We have 6 whole days of previews on the Whimsy Facebook page and Whimsy Inspirations Blog, with the 7th being the main release day with all of the stamps (rubber, clear & digital) and dies available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this adorable stamp from Krista Heij-Barber - Reindeer Kitty!
I am SO in love with this grumpy cat and have a few people in mind who I could send this card to!

I colored the image and sentiment using my prismacolor pencils.
I added some stitching and mini jingle bells to the kitty's reindeer antlers, as the stamp shows - but I wanted a little more dimension on mine.
I wanted the image to be the main focus of the card and so kept the rest of the card pretty simple.
The papers and thread are from my stash.
