And here is my take on it, using the AWESOME Echo Park 'This & That Charming' collection:

The Cutting Cafe - berry sweet greetings & backgrounds

Another week at The Cutting Cafe and the theme was strawberries! I decided to make an easel card with boxes - a new one for me!
I used:
Berry sweet backgrounds printable stamps - green dotted background.
Berry sweet greetings - bingo card, frame, berry circle sentiment.
Matchbook box set - for the drawers underneath (I made 4 and stepped them so that they were all accessible)
Other - brads, twine, strawberry embellishments.

Hope you like it! I'll be back again next week with another great set. Don't forget to check out The Cutting Cafe blog for more inspirational projects and prizes!

Playful

As always, I turned the page on it's side!! I used My Minds Eye 'Good Day Sunshine' boy papers - the current challenge over on MME is to use masculine colors and embellishments on a girl page. These papers worked well with the colors of my daughters clothes! I am also entering this layout into the challenge over on Scrap-Friendzy to use die cuts - most of my embellishments come from the 12x12 die cut sheet in this collection.

The Cutting Cafe - Beehive shaped card set

Good morning and happy monday! This week's assigned set for us over at The Cutting Cafe was the Beehive shaped card set. As you know - I love to put a twist on things - so I decided to make a 'Bee U' mini album for my sons birthday (he turned 12 this year - the last of the pre-teen years - I wanted a reminder for him once he starts hitting those adolescent moods!) . I used the beehive shape and cut out my album (from old cereal boxes) along with the background papers. I also cut out the bee from the same set for the front cover. Bear with me - there are lots of photos to show you!!!......

All of the papers are from Echo Park - I have SO many collections and they are work REALLY well together! Country Drive, Playground, Little Boy, A boy's life, Splash, Wintertime & Dots and Straipes - Metropolitan. As you can see - i just LOVE Echo Park!!!!
Thanks for coming over to my blog and taking a look.
Happy scrapping :-)

Scrap-Friendzy - GOTM

I was chosen as 'Girlfriend of the month' over Scrap-Friendzy this month, which means that I get to set a BONUS challenge for people on the site. Here is my challenge:

Here is May's bonus challenge! I love to use 6x6 paper pads for everything - cards, scrapbook layouts, altered projects.

My challenge to you is to create a layout using 6x6 papers ONLY (12x12 card stock can be used for the background paper)! Easy right?!
Here is my layout (excuse the photo - it is pouring with rain and overcast here so the
lighting is terrible. I will retake and repost once the lighting is better.)

It would be great to see you over there!
So many different and fun challenges - and everyone is SO nice!

The Cutting Cafe - Beautiful Rose

This week's assigned set from the Cutting Cafe was the 'Beautiful Rose' set. This contained printable stamps, shaped cards, sentiments...SO much stuff! As we had already had Mother's Day in the UK back in March (I have NO idea why this date should be different from the US! Father's Day is the same...) I decided to use it to make my Mum's birthday card and matching gift boxes.
I used the 'Mum word block' printable stamp for the background, which I highlighted the word 'MUM" using my prismacolor pencils - I loved the fact that I could get something with the word 'Mum' on it  - I know everyone in the US calls their mother 'Mom' but I still and always will use the English word 'Mum'.
I used the Beautiful Rose printable images and again colored these with my pencils - using one to adorn the card, one to make a tag and one to decorate the boxes.
I made the boxes using the nesting boxes cutting files.
Hope you check out The Cutting Cafe store - they have some amazing deals! Also, check out their blog for some great projects and inspiration.
See you next week, for done of my FAVORITE projects yet! :-)

You are so precious

I used the fantastic Frosted Designs sketch this week:
along with a mixture of MME's Lost & Found and Lost & Found 2 collections, to make this page:
I am also entering this into the NSD challenge #3 over on Scrap-Friendzy - distressing. I inked around all of the papers, the photo and the banner elements.

Oh boy!

This has got to be one of my all time favorite photos of my son! He just wanted be like like his favorite Uncle and Grumps - digging around in the ice bucket for drinks! Inly problem - they were all alcoholic! He was only 2!!!!! I think he had more fun just playing in the ice! Great role models he has there!!! Here is my layout:
I used the current sketch from Boys Rule Scrapbook kits:
I rotated the sketch quarter of a turn to the right to accommodate the photo.
I used Echo Park's 'A boy's life' papers and embellishments, along with embroidery floss (for the hand stitched circles) and brads.
I am also entering this layout into the Scrap-friendzy NSD challenge #6 (use a favorite photo).

The Cutting Cafe - Pinwheel

This week's inspiration post is all about the Pinwheel file. This was great fun to work with and sent my mind racing with ideas! I decided on a teacher gift (trying to get myself organized before the end of the school year!)
I made a gift bag using a lunch bag, decorated with Echo Park's 'Country Drive' papers and stickers.
The pinwheel file was so easy to work with - this example uses the scalloped edge pinwheel. Check out the Cutting Cafe store for more great files and printable stamps.
Hope you like it. Will be back with another great file next week :-)

boy: noise with dirt!

I just loved this sketch #207 from creative scrappers:
and I just knew the perfect collection to use. Simple Stories has such great elements in all different shapes and sizes I knew it would fit!!! I used the 'Awesome' collection and am entering this into their current challenge to use elements.
A new blog I have recently found is Studio Calico, who have been hosting some great challenges too. One of them was to use 5 or more photos. I normally stick to 2 or 3 on a layout, but this sketch was perfect for this!
Here is my layout:
I am also entering this into the Paper Secrets challenge inspired by chevrons (background paper).

Tiny

Fairly typical - NSD on saturday, all week to complete layouts and challenges, and my mojo deserts me! I managed to complete one layout today for My Little Shoebox. I used their NSD sketch:
Along with their 'Sunday market' collection.
I am also entering this into Scrapbook Steals NSD challenge #3 - use pink, blue, green, yellow and flowers.

Sunshine!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!
I haven't got a huge amount of scrapping done today  but I have managed to complete this layout:
So these photos were taken on mine and Mark's first holiday abroad together - we went to Majorca in 1994! I was only 20 at the time - seems like SO long ago!!!!
The challenge over at Scrapbook Steals was to make a layout of me (Eeeeeek! I don't normally do those!!) before the age of 25. I must get some baby photos off mum for these challenges - at least they aren't quite as embarrassing (except the clothes!!)
along with their AWESOME new collection "Hello Summer'!
I have linked this with the Paper Secrets challenge to use stitching - I hand stitched the suns rays, Big Picture Classes Creative Crop challenge #4 which was to use a twine technique (I made the tassels on the banner) and Studio Calico's shape challenge (chevron background paper!).

Little Lady!

Woohoo! National Scrapbook Day is tomorrow! Lots of the scrapbook sites I frequent are already posting their challenges! This layout manages to fit into 3 of the challenges.
Scrapbook Steals have started a new series (Turquoise) so I am determined to keep up with them this time! Last time I had 3 days to complete 6 layouts!!! Here is Turquoise #1:
For the first time, I didn't flip it or rotate it - it worked perfectly just as it was :-)
I used the Authentique 'uncommon' paper collection which was the brand challenge over on Paper Secrets.
I also used butterflies, ribbon (woven into the lace), brads and letter stickers which is the current 'fabulous friday' challenge over on Frosted Designs (you had to use 4 out of the 8 items listed).
Here is my layout:
So my daughter LOOKED like a 'little lady', all dressed up prettily for my cousins wedding - but she certainly DIDN'T act it!!!! Walking round holding her dress in the air, food all around her face, slurping her drink!!!! She did look the part for the first 5 minutes anyway! :-)

You have my heart

My Mind's Eye collections are SO HOT at the moment and I just LOVE them! I picked up the 'Lost and Found two - breeze' collection from Scrapbook Steals last week and just knew the perfect photo and layout I wanted to create. I am still plowing through my brother's wedding photo's from September last year and just love the MME collections for these pages.
I used the current sketch challenge from Lasting Memories:
which was designed by Rochelle Spears (a truly amazing sketcher and scrapbooker - check out her blog here: http://rochellespears.blogspot.com/). The theme of the challenge was to scrap something you treasure - well FAMILY is certainly something I treasure so this photo was perfect.
Here is my layout:
I am also entering this layout into the following challenges:
My Mind's Eye May challenge - use brads
Paper Secrets - one little word 'YOU' (in the title and journalling)
Unique crafters challenge - ribbons and fibers

The cutting cafe - my first post!!

WooHoo! I'm SO excited! This is my first post as Design Team member for The Cutting Cafe! This is a fantastic website where you can purchase printable stamps and cutting files at great prices, and they also have a fun blog too! Please come and check them out: http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/

It was a free choice week, so we had our pick of anything we wanted in the shop! So ... that took me AGES to decide! I finally decided on making a birthday card and gift bag for a friend's little girls birthday. Here is what I made:
Products I used :
Number 2 shaped card with Imaginisce 'If the crown fits' papers. These card templates also come with 2 sentiments (one of which I used on the gift bag) and separate number templates (also used on the gift bag).
Mikala Ann Holding a balloon printable stamp which I colored with prismacolor pencils.
Colored background birthday girl printable stamp. This is great because it comes in a variety of different colors to match whatever project you are making.

I hope you like my first project - The Cutting Cafe stamps and templates are really fun to work with and just look so good!
I'll be back next week with another project. Thanks for looking.
Kerys :-)

I am also entering this project into Craft you days away challenge #44 ('just for children').
