MFT Sketch Challenge #378 & Color Challenge #90

This love this new owl stamp set from My Favorite Things - 'Owl my Love'. The owls and sentiments are super cute and have so many possibilities for cards!
I used the current sketch #378 and color challenge #90 to inspire this card. I love how it has turned out!

I stamped the images from the Owl My Love stamp set using Versamark Watermark ink and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
I then colored them with zig clean color brush markers, to match the colors from color challenge #90. I used the coordinating Owl My Love Die-namics to cut the owls out.

I used the current sketch for my design inspiration for this card.
I cut the frame using the Stitched Mini Scallop Square dies and then hand cut the square in the middle (not one of my many square dies were quite big enough!).

I used Victorian Velvet distress ink to ink up the background square and banner strip. The sentiment was stamped from the Yay for You stamp set - again with Versamark Watermark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. The banner was cut using one of the Blueprints die-namics.

I finished off the card by popping up the frame and owls on pop dits and adding glossy accents and stickles for dimension.
This panel was then placed onto a white card base.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #25 - Color Inspiration

The latest challenge #25 from Lawn Fawnatics is a color inspiration board.
I love the rainbow colors and decided the 'Beam Me Up' stamp set would be perfect for this challenge!

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils and die cut them out. I added some white details and wink of stella to some of the aliens.

Having recently watched some Jennifer McGuire YouTube videos, I decided to use one of her ideas, and use my scraps of paper to create a fun rainbow background. I added a vellum strip over the top to dull out the colors a bit, and allow the rainbow colored aliens to stand out.

I stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Beam me Up stamp set. This panel was the stuck onto a white card base.

A super simple card!

Cute Card Thursday - Add a Quote

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Add a Quote'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I chose to use this adorable clear stamp set from Whimsy Stamps -

A Girl's Best Friend.

I decided to use minimal coloring on the images as the background was so colorful and busy. I used my prismacolor pencils to color in the images and added glossy accents to the centers of the flowers and the cats nose. I then fussy cut the images out.

I stamped the sentiment onto Doodlebug's 'Kitten Smitten' paper and cut out the square using the Wonky Stitched Square STAX from My Favorite Things.

I used the paw print stamp from the Whimsy Stamps 'Unconditional Love' stamp set to make the background for the blue banner. I stamped the paw using Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed it with transparent embossing powder. I love the tone-on-tone look.

The grey background paper is also from Doodlebug's 'kitten smitten' 6x6 paper pad.

We are sponsored this week by Oddball Art Co, a great prize as always. I hope to see you joining in the challenge this month.

Cute Card Thursday - Easter

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Easter'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I chose to use this adorable digital image by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Easter Bunny.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils, and used my scan 'n cut to cut it out. I added some wink of stella to the bunny ears and tail for a little sparkle!
I used the new Whimsy Stamps Farmhouse Greenery stencil with versamark watermark ink, and then heat embossed with Zing 'leaf' embossing powder. I then die cut the hills using the Whimsy Stamps stitched border trio die set.
I die cut the clouds using the Whimsy Stamps stitched cloud dies and made up the scene inside the frame from the new Whimsy Stamps Shaker Maker - rectangles die set.
I added some bright pink cardstock to the back of the frame to make it all pop.

We are sponsored this week by Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, a great prize as always. I hope to see you joining in the challenge this month.

One in a Chameleon

I just couldn't resist this super fun stamp set from Your Next Stamp called 'One in a Chameleon' - I loved the super cute images and all the fun sentiments.
I used the current sketch and color challenge #85 over on the YNS blog to inspire this card. I love how it has turned out!

I found this paper from Lily Bee Design in my stash and thought it worked perfectly for part of the color combo in the challenge.
And then I thought - chameleon's blend into the background, so why not stamp it directly onto the background.
I did, however, need its eyes to pop out of the patterns too. I stamped the image again on plain white cardstock and fussy cut out the eyes. I glued them over the top of the patterned paper eyes and added some glossy accents to really make them pop (unfortunately you don't quite get the effect in the photo as you do in real life).
I needed to 'ground' the image so used some light grey zig clean color brush marker to give him something to be standing on.
I picked another color from the color combo for the 'envelope' style topping to the card. I stamped one of the sentiments from the set using some black versafine ink.
I also stamped one of the flowers from the set onto matching paper, added some wink of stella and then fussy cut it out. I popped this up on some foam tape over some grey and white bakers twine.

I'm super happy with how this fun card turned out!

Uptown Girl Charlotte Loves to Shop

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick Blog again today showcasing this little beauty!
I am super happy that Crafty Doodle Chick decided to stock Stamping Bella stamps - these have been a favorite of mine for a while now.
And Uptown Girl Charlotte Loves to Shop is no exception. Which girls don't like to shop? I know my teenage daughter daughter does and this image made the perfect card for her or one of her friends!

I wanted to keep this card quite simple both in color and design.
I colored the image using my zig clean color markers, adding some extra details here and there with a white gel roll pen. I then fussy cut it out - although you can buy the coordinating dies.

I stamped the sentiment that came with the image - again perfect for a teenagers card - onto the white cardstock background using MFT Extreme Black ink. I added some of MFT's Bundles of Blossoms Brights 6x6 patterned cardstock in red to the base. I used a scalloped border die to cut the edge to add a little more interest.
Some bakers twine and enamel dots finished the card off.

I then popped this panel up onto the card base using fun foam for a little dimension.

A very easy, CAS style card.

Honey Bee Stamps Challenge #2 - Color Inspiration

I'm loving this Color Inspiration board for the new Honey Bee Stamps challenge - such a gorgeous color combination.

I have just purchased the Coffee Gift Card Holder and Perfect Blend stamp set which I am TOTALLY in love with. This color combo worked perfectly for my gift card holder.

I used paper from Lily Bee Designs for the base of the gift card holder, which were the perfect color combo. I added a cream patterned lid and sleeve to the cup.

I used the circle die cut in the set to cut out the piece for the sentiment in grey cardstock.

I used the Perfect Blend stamp set for the sentiment. The sentiment I wanted to use actually came in a straight line, so I cut the sentiment up into 3 pieces to stack it up onto the circle die cut. I stamped the middle line first, using Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then stamped the 'Hug' and 'Mug' in the same Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed it using clear transparent embossing powder. I love the look this gives.

I finished off the coffee sleeve with some coordinating twine and then 'popped' the circle sentiment up on pop dots.

A super fun way to give a gift card.

I am adding this into the Honey Bee Stamps Facebook challenge #2.

MFT Sketch Challenge #376 & Color Challenge #89

This is one of my favorite stamp sets from My Favorite Things - 'Funky Flowers'. I used the current sketch #376 and color challenge #89 to inspire this card. I love how it has turned out!

I stamped the images from the Funky Flowers stamp set using Versamark Watermark ink and then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
I then colored them with zig clean color brush markers, to match some of the colors from color challenge #89.

I fussy cut out the flowers as I didn't want a white border around them, and used the MFT fab foliage die set to cut out the leaves from the Bundles of Blossoms (brights) 6x6 paper pad.

I used the Wonky stitched circle STAX die to cut out the circle from white cardstock. The border strips of colored papers were cut from the hearts and stripes and itsy bitsy polka dots paper pads in the matching colors.

The sentiment was stamped using the Kind Thanks stamp set, in Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed using white embossing powder.

MFT Sketch Challenge #376

I love this stamp set from My Favorite Things - 'Friends Furever' - the images and sentiments are just super cute! I used the current sketch #376 for my card design.

I stamped the images from the Friends Furever stamp set and colored them with my prismacolor pencils.

I cut out the background pieces using MFT's wonky stitched square STAX die, stitched scallop basic edges die and hearts and stripes 6x6 paper pad. I then followed the card sketch to put it all together.

The sentiment was stamped from the Because You stamp set, using Versamark water ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I love how this card turned out!
