Crafty Doodle Chick 'Doodle Hop'!

Hello!!!  It's time for the first ever Crafty Doodle Chick Blog Hop, woohoo!!!!

Today we are celebrating their 6 month anniversary (it's still just a baby, but growing quickly!).  Jennifer, the store owner, is super amazing and her store has great prices on shipping plus fantastic customer service.  It's always nice to support a small store when you can, and this store definitely deserves some love! There are lots of big and small name companies to be found in her store as well including the new releases of Lawn Fawn, My Favorite Things, Altenew, and so many more. So many of my favorite brands!

I decided to use Sunny Studio's 'City Streets' stamp set. I loved building up the shop scene on the card.

I stamped the images using MFT's Extreme Black Hybrid Ink Cube and then colored them using my prismacolor pencils.

I stamped the sentiment from the same Sunny Studio's stamp set and cut out the white panel.

I mounted this onto a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" patterned cardstock from Sunny Studio's "Classic Gingham' 6x6 paper pad. I added a couple of patterned strip on the bottom of the card to 'ground' the images. Some hand drawn stitching with a white gel pen finished the card off.

The whole panel was then adhered to a standard A2 white card base.

We hope you enjoy the hop and are inspired by all the wonderful Design Team Creations.  Don't forget to comment on all of the blog posts for entries into the draw to win the brand new Neat and Tangled 'Paint Night' stamp and die bundle.

Cute Card Thursday - Hello Summer

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Hello Summer'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this 'new-to-me' stamp set from Lawn Fawn 'Life is Good'.

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils, and used my Scan'n cut to cut them out.

I used white cardstock and Lawn Fawn's 'Mini Picture Frames', backed with MFT's Country Fair Plaid paper for the picture frames. I adhered different summer elements from the Life is Good stamp set into and onto the frames.

The sentiment is from the same set but comes in a straight line in the set. I wanted it to fit into one of my frames and so cut the stamp in 2 so i could stack the sentiment.

For the 2 base panels I used Doodlebug's 'swiss dot rainbow petite prints paper. This was then adhered onto a standard white A2 card base.

We are sponsored this week by Bugaboo Digi Stamps, a great prize as always. I hope to see you joining in the challenge this month.

Thanks for looking!

Coffee and Friends

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick blog today with my weekly post and a little inspiration for combining stamp sets.

Anyone who knows me, knows I run on coffee! I love anything coffee related - in particular stamps! I used 3 different stamp sets on this card - all from Gerda Steiner designs and all available in the Crafty Doodle Chick store.

I decided to try some masking for this image. I stamped the 'Coffee Hedgehog' first and then used some masking paper to cover him up. I then stamped the bear from 'Warm Fuzzies' and the dinosaur from 'Coffeesaurus' on either side of him. I colored the images with my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.

For the background and banners I used Sunny Studio's Classic Gingham 6x6 cardstock.

The sentiment and die cut 'coffee' word are from Honey Bee Stamps (coming to the store soon!) They are the Perfect Blend stamp set and Perfect Blend honey cuts. I stamped them in Versafine black onyx ink and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I stacked 3 of the die cuts together for added dimension and added wink of stella for a little sparkle!

MFT Sketch Challenge #386 & Birthday Project

I love the Pure Innocence girls from My Favorite Things  and used 'Blowing Kisses' on this card. I used the current sketch #386 for my card design.

I colored in her skin, hair and shoes using my prismacolor pencils, and then paper pieced the dress. I stamped the image onto MFT's Country Fair Plaid paper (now retired) and then fussy cut the dress out.

I decided to use this for a birthday/celebration card and thought the image was perfect to place a cupcake in her hands. I used the top cupcake from stack in the MFT 'Birthday Chicks' stamp set and fussy cut it out to place in her hands.

I cut out the MFT 'Peek-a-Boo Wonky Window' from a white cardstock panel and used the cupcake from MFT 'Happy Hippos' stamp set to stamp behind the window with versa mark watermark ink. I then heat embossed them with white ink, and blended wilted violet distress oxide ink over the top.

I stamped the sentiment from MFT's 'Birthday Chicks' stamp set onto purple cardstock from my stash. I then heat embossed this with white embossing powder and cut it out using one of my 'free with $60' dies from MFT.

I put the card together, popped the girl up on pop dots and added some enamel dots for texture. This was all adhered to a standard A2 white card base.

I love how this card turned out!

Cute Card Thursday - Little Boy Blue

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Little Boy Blue'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I chose to use this adorable image from this month's release at Whimsy Stamps - Nose to Nose.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils, and used Whimsy Stamps Hand Stitched Nested Rectangle die to cut out the panel.

I used Whimsy Stamps Envelope Edger dies to create the scalloped border on the white and blue patterned paper.

I stamped the sentiment using the Whimsy Stamps Helping Hands stamp set and then cut out the banners. Some white enamel dots from Whimsy Stamps Christmas Cheer collection finish the card off.

We are sponsored this week by Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, a great prize as always. I hope to see you joining in the challenge this month.

Gina K Designs Wreath Builder

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick blog today with my weekly post and a little last minute inspiration for the current Paw-fect challenge - It's All About the Girls.

I'm super excited that Gina K Designs is now being sold in the Crafty Doodle Chick store. I have watched some many YouTube videos of people using the Wreath Builder template and stamps to make cards, that I knew I had to give it a try!

I was amazed how easy the template made building up the wreath with the different stamps. I wanted to keep the color combo quite simple and decided on grey's and pinks. It was my Mum's  70th birthday on May 10th so this card worked out perfectly for her!

I stamped the sentiment from the same set and used Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched Scallop Circle Stackables to cut it out. I popped this up on foam dots for added dimension.

I finished the card off by layering the wreath panel on pink cardstock and a grey A2 card base. I added some bling to the flowers and a bakers twine bow for more interest.

You'll find the Gina K Stamps and Templates Wreath Builder Bundle in the Crafty Doodle Chick store:

MFT Sketch #385

I have just purchased a retired My Favorite Things stamp from a friend - Super Boy - and I love it! I had to make a birthday card for a 5 year old boy who is into all things super heroes so this was perfect! I used the current sketch #385 for my card design (although was too late to enter! Lol!).

I stamped the image and colored it in using my prismacolor pencils, and added some white gel pen detailing. I didn't want a white border around the figure so I fussy cut it out.

I used a whimsy stamps 'sun rays' stencil in the background with wild honey and mustard seed distress inks. I die cut the houses from plain black cardstock using MFT's 'our town' die-namic. The grass was die cut using MFT's 'grassy edges' border die and MFT's 'Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot 6x6 paper pad'.

I used MFT's 'Stitched snow drifts' border die to cut the wavy border from the base panel and red cardstock, before layering over the blue shimmer cardstock.

I then adhered it all to a standard A2 white card base.

I love how this card turned out!

Cute Card Thursday - The Great Outdoors

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'The Great Outdoors'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable stamp from Whimsy Stamps new release  - 'In the Doghouse'.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and used the new Whimsy Stamps Card Builder Windows die set to cut out the white frame.
I used the same set to cut out the green and blue patterned papers.

The tab over the image is cut using the same Card Builder Windows die set. I stamped the 'xoxo' from Whimsy Stamps Unconditional Love stamp set.

A few 'Summer Breeze' enamel dots from Whimsy Stamps and a white card base finishes the card off.

We are sponsored this week by Di's Digi Stamps, a great prize as always!

Sending Big Hugs

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick blog today with my weekly post and some color inspiration for the current Paw-fect challenge - It's All About the Girls.

I love so many stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn available at the Crafty Doodle Chick store, and I used lots on this card!

I wanted to give you a little inspiration for the current challenge (It's All About The Girls), which will end on Saturday 26 May 8pm EST. I have a sketch for you to try out too if you feel this would be an added inspiration.

I started by stamping the elephant from the 'slow down and enjoy' stamp set and colored it with my prismacolor pencils. I used the add-on die to cut out the 'bookmark' from pink cardstock, adhering the elephant on top. If using it as a bookmark, remember to not stick the legs down, allowing you to prop it over the page (or the sentiment banner in this case). I added some bakers twine to the top of the bookmark.

As the bookmark will be removed by the recipient, I wanted something behind it.

I added a green tag behind the bookmark, and added a birthday sentiment from the 'slow down and enjoy' stamp set. The banner sentiment is also from the same set.

The papers are from Lawn fawn and I used a scalloped border die for a little interest to the design.

You'll find these products in the Crafty Doodle Chick store:
