Cute card Thursday - sketch by anyone!

This is my last spot as the Cute Card Thursday Guest Designer. This week we had to use a sketch by anyone we liked! I chose to use the Papertake Weekly sketch for this week (no.55) ...

sketch #55[5].jpg

Here was my take on the sketch ...

I used an image from Mo's digital pencil and coloured it using prismacolor pencils. I found the circle sentiment on 'Welcome to my art addiction' - free digi's!! This card is for my son who will be turning 11 very soon - how time flies!!
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Papertake weekly (no. 55) - sketch
Cards for men - circles
Craft your passion - layers
Simply create - man images
Simon says stamp - anything goes
Tuesday throwdown (no.46)- brads/eyelets

Messy!

Another challenge by Colorful Creations - Inspired by interior design. The picture given to us was of a nursery with white, blue and lime green bedding and features. Here is what I came up with...

I love these photos and especially love the quote "A food not fit to wear is not fit to eat!!" He was determined to feed himself from the start!!! Made for VERY MESSY mealtimes!! :-)

Cute card Thursday

I remembered to post on time this week!!! Yeh!!! The theme over on Cute card Thursday this week was 'No text' - that was a lot harder than I thought!!! Here us mine ...

I used a digi image from The Paper Shelter called 'shopping girl' which I coloured with prismacolor pencils, spotty patterned paper (can't remember the make sorry!!), I handstitched around the edge of the card, and used embellishments that I got from Michaels at a bargain $0.49 (and I've still got loads of them left!!). Hope you like it.
Other challenges I am entering this card into are:
Tuesday throwdown no. 45 - polka dots
Cupcake craft challenges no.138 - lots of layers
Craft your passion no.54 - use dots

Powder

This was for another challenge on Colorful Creations - add stitching! Well that wasn't difficult for me - I seem to be adding to stitching to everything I do!!

I added circles around the figures on the first page so that you could see the family members - they aren't just random people!!!

These were taken over the Christmas holidays - another page done for the Christmas album!!!

Monsters, Inc.

So we were given a sketch challenge over on Colorful Creations ...

I looked through all the photos on the computer and nothing exciting sprang to mind ... except ...

I do apologise!!! I've had a week with the kids off school and on Spring Break, and then my daughter has been off the last 2 days poorly - would more can you expect??!!!!

Guest designer!!!!!

I was also asked to be the guest designer on Cute Card Thursday for the month of April - thanks Deb!! :-)
I forgot to post this on my blog!! Oooops!! Here is my card for last Thursday's challenge - Weather.

I used Meljen's 'Umbrella Boy' digital stamp and Meljen's 'April Showers' wording. I coloured the images with prismacolor pencils, handstitched the rain and added cloud and water embellishments.

Colorful Creations Online Crop

Ok - so now I have a bit of time to breathe - I thought I best update my blog!! I took part in the online crop over on Colorful Creations the other weekend, and ended up completing soooo many challenges I lost count!!! Here are the results of my weekend!!

I also completed the previously posted 'Country girl' card for a spring themed challenge.

This card was to follow a colour theme!

This was a copy the sketch layout with 'Spring' in the title.

This card was a copy the sketch.

This layout had to use a quote. I used 2:
"For now in mummy's tummy...forever in her heart"
"Before you were born...I loved you Xxx"

Another card!!! This one had to be a book card. (I cheated on this one and printed out the coloured in image!!!)

Inside of the card.

This is my all time favourute!!! I just LOVE this photo!! This challenge was a copy the sketch challenge - and I only had 1 HOUR to complete it!!! But it's the best one yet!!! I have since re-done the stitching on the page with proper stitches (I drew them on for the challenge otherwise I would never have finished it in time!!!)

I had great fun during this weekend. Colorful Creations are celebrating their first anniversary next month, so lots more challenges and fun to be had!!! :-)

Country Girl card

As part of the online crop over at Colourful Creations I had to make a Spring card/layout choosing items and following a recipe! This is what I came up with ...

I coloured a lovely sketch from The paper shelter - and I'm also entering into the current challenge on their website (theme - anything goes).

4 Friends

I love these pictures - they bring back a lot of memories. Miss the boys loads. They were all as thick as thieves!! And their mum was just as bad!!

This was another challenge over on Colourful Creations - '4 things' and use polka dot paper.

1st Snow

I love these photos - He was thoroughly enjoying himself but wasn't quite able to stay sitting when the sledge was pulled gently forward! He found it hilarious - ending up backwards in the snow!!

This layout was created for a Colourful Creations challenge 'Trains and Tiaras' - use at least 2 photos of a male, include journalling and title must include a number.

Just like Dad

Well finally another page done!! I followed a colour scheme challenge over on Colourful Creations for this one. I just love the way 'Dad' ends up with the little kids watering can!!

'Aloha' card

This week's challenge (no. 159) over at Cute Card Thursday was "tropical'! I found this gorgeous image over at Stitchy Bear digital images. Excuse the way the picture has turned out - the lighting outside was rubbish and so the colouring doesn't look as good as in real life!! (That's my excuse anyway!!)

I followed a sketch from the Sweet sketch Wednesday challenge (no. 96) which I am entering this card into. I am also entering it into the following:
Simply Create - Do-it-yourself challenge no. 40.
Craft you passion - anything goes challenge no. 52.
Bugaboo - anything goes
Paper take weekly - anything goes

My daughter was desperate for me to start work on her scrapbook album, so here we go...

I am entering this page into a challenge over at Colourful Creations (to use 3 different pieces of chipboard - flower, heart and 2 types of letters). This page turned out a lot better than I expected - the challenge kept me stumped for a long time!!

Happy Easter card
