Saturday Live - Crafty Catch Up #9

It was so nice to be able to catch up and craft with friends over zoom today, and the group is ever growing. Lots of good friends I have met through Whimsy Stamps craft retreats.

Today's challenge was to make a 'Dog' themed card, with a shaker element and no designer papers. I decided to use an older stamp set 'A Girl's Best Friend'.

Here is my card:

I stamped the dog image, colored it in with my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.

I created the background panel by stamping the Puppy Paws Background stamp onto grey cardstock with VersaMark Watermark ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I die cut the panel using the Card Builder Windows die and then cut out the window with the Connected Oval die. I also used the oval die with white cardstock to cut out the white frame.

I adhered acetate onto the back of the grey panel and added the frame on top. I added fun foam to the back of the panel to create the shaker window.

For the shaker elements, I found some paw print and bone brads in my stash. I cut off the backs of the brads and used them as shaker elements, with some clear gems from my stash.

I adhered the grey panel directly over the top of the shaker elements onto a standard A2 black base.

I finished the card iff by stamping a sentiment from the Unconditional Love stamp set and die cut it out with the Quick Strips die set. I adhered this onto the card and popped up the dog on foam tape.

I love how this turned out! I can't wait for all the challenges in next week's Virtual Whimsy Stamps retreat! :D

Doodlebug's Gift bag, tag and card

I am loving the new Doodlebug Designs paper collections, and the Hey Cupcake girl collection is no exception. The colors are nice and bright, and the patterned papers and images are just too cute.

I used Queen & Co's new Large Scallop Gift Bag Pocket die for decorating this gift bag with pink patterned paper from my stash. I love this die as it allows you to add your card to the front of the gift bag, so not only does it work as the decoration for the bag but it stops the card getting lost in the bag!

I used the Doodlebug Hey Cupcake patterned papers for the card and tag, along with the matching stickers. The sentiments are stamped from Doodlebug's Happy Birthday stamp set.

I love the coordinating gift bag, tag and card set and I can see that I will be making lots more for all occasions.

The Doodlebug paper pack and stamp set can be found in the 7KidsCrafts store. Go grab them while they are still available!

Thanks for looking.

Saturday Live - Crafty Catch Up #8

It was so nice to be able to catch up and craft with friends over zoom today, and the group is ever growing. Lots of good friends I have met through Whimsy Stamps craft retreats.

Today's challenge was to make a 'Get Well' card, with texture and Washi tape. I really struggled with this theme, as I don't have an obvious Get Well image from Whimsy. I decided to go the flower route and used the Beaucoup Bouquet stamp set.

Here is my card:

I challenged myself to stamp and color on Kraft cardstock this week. I stamped the flower onto a scrap piece of Kraft cardstock and then arranged and stamped the rest of the leaves and flowers on a 5" x 3.75" panel. I stamped the sentiment using the Everyday Mini Sentiments stamp set.

I used the coordinating beaucoup bouquet die set (now retired) to cit out the large flower.

I colored in the images using my prismacolor pencils, laying down some white before adding the color. I love how these turned out. I popped the large flower up on foam dots.

I added some Washi tape from my stash and pleated it to add the texture to the card.

I added the panel to some white cardstock and then adhered it all onto a standard A2 black card base.

I love how this turned out! Can't wait for next weeks challenge :D

Hip Hip Hooray Dinosaurs

Stamping Bella's 'Set of Dinosaurs' stamp set is just too cute! I just had to make them into a fun, bright birthday card.

I stamped the images and colored them in with my prismacolor pencils. I planned to use them with Doodlebug's Party Time 6x6 paper pad, and so matched my colors to that collection. I added some white gel pen detailing, and then fussy cut them out.

I used Mama Elephant's Six Window Cover die to cut out the white cardstock and then adhered the patterned papers from Doodlebug's Party Time paper pad behind the windows.

I used Doodlebug's Happy Birthday stamp set to stamp the sentiment in one of the windows.

I finished the card by popping up the dinosaurs up on foam dots, adding some enamel dots and then adhering it all onto a standard A2 white card base.

Check out the 7 Kids Crafts store for lots of fun goodies....there are new products coming in all of the time!

Cute Card Thursday - Critters

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Critters'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

Yes! It's another gnome!! Lol!! I used this super cute digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps 'Spring Gnomes' by Dustin Pike. Lots of cute gnomes in this set!

I printed out the image from the Spring Gnomes digital stamp, along with one of the Big Wishes digital sentiments onto some white cardstock. I colored in the gnome with my prismacolor pencils.

I cut the image panel down to 3.75" x 5" and adhered this onto some rainbow paper from Whimsy Stamps Rainbow 6x6 paper pad.

I added the panel to a standard A2 white card base.

A super quick and easy card to make. I love that the image is the main focus of the card, and the sentiment works perfectly with it.

Combining a Christmas stamp with Outdoor paper and ephemera

I love the Little Lumberjack collection from Echo Park and have used the papers and ephemera previously to create some cute cards. I decided to use them again (and guess what - they are ON SALE in the 7 Kids Crafts store!) and this time pair them with the Catherine Pooler The Man With the Bag (ALSO ON SALE!) stamp set for the background!

Makes for a great masculine card, or even Father's Day card!

I stamped the red background panel with the beard from The man with the Bag and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder for a subtle look. I also added some of the circles from the stamp set in brown ink for a little contrast.

The patterned panel is from Echo Park's Little Lumberjack 6x6 paper pad, and I added some twine to that piece.

I cut a few thin strips of the patterned paper and arranged them with sone of the Little Lumberjack ephemera pieces for a focus point.

I adhered this onto a standard A2 white card base.

You should check out what else is ON SALE in the 7 Kids Crafts store - lots of bargains to be found!

Thanks for. looking! See you next time!

Saturday Live - Crafty Catch Up #7

It was so nice to be able to catch up and craft with friends over zoom today, and the group is ever growing. Lots of good friends I have met through Whimsy Stamps craft retreats.

Today's challenge was to make a 'Magic' card, with distress ink and a wooden element. I immediately thought of the Create Magic stamp set, with the wizard.

Here is my card:

I stamped the images and colored them in with my prismacolor pencils. I then fussy cut them out.

I used the Galaxy Galore background stamp and white heat embossed it onto 2 separate panels. One of the panels I die cut using the Slimline Postage die set. I added acetate and foam tape to the back of the panel to turn it into a shaker card.

The other panel I die cut using a new die coming soon, and then used distress oxides to blend over the embossed background. I used shaded lilac, broken china and faded jeans distress oxides. I then used a cloth to wipe any excess ink off the heat embossing.

I added some wooden stars and sparkle stars to the shaker and adhered the 2 panels together.

I used the broken china distress oxide to color a panel of cardstock and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Create Magic stamp set with white embossing powder. I cut this into a banner shape and adhered onto the front of the card.

I finished off the card by adhering the images onto the front, along with another wooden star.

This was adhered to a white card base measuring 3.75" x 8.75".

I love how this turned out! Can't wait for next weeks challenge :D

Thanks for looking.

Doodlebug Party Time Birthday

I just love the bright colors and fun images in the Doodlebug collections, and the Party Time Boy collection is no exception. I used the 6x6 paper pad for this card, with a mini cut apart for the main focus. I love that you can make so many cards with just the paper pad.

I used only the Doodlebug paper pad, along with some blue cardstock and green twine from my stash to make this card. The stars were die cut from the papers too. This was then all adhered onto a standard A2 white card base.

Check out all the fun papers in the 7KidsCraft store - it's amazing what you can do with just a paper collection.

Hippo Fun in the Sun

Have you seen the new Hippo clear stamp sets from Whimsy Stamps - they are just too cute! I used Whimsy Stamps Hippo Fun in the Sun stamp set for this card - available from the 7KidsCrafts Store.

I stamped the image and colored him in using my prismacolor pencils. I then fussy cut him out.

I cut a white panel of cardstock measuring 3.75" x 5" and used Whimsy Stamps Wavy Edgers die to cut the edge. I then used the Whimsy Stamps Making Waves stencil with my distress inks to create the waves. I used the Whimsy Stamps Grass & Cloud Edger die to cut a cloud border from white cardstock, and then used this as a stencil to create the clouds.

I cute a panel of yellow designer cardstock from Whimsy Stamps Starring Hearts paper pack, measuring 4" x 5.25" and adhere the stenciled panel on top.

I stamped the sentiments from the Hippo Fun in the Sun stamp set onto white cardstock. I used the Whimsy Stamps Tombstone Tag die (now retired) and Whimsy Stamps Quick Strips die to cut out the 2 sentiments.

I added some backers twine to the panel, and popped up the tombstone sentiment on pop dots. I adhered the other banner sentiment to the card and finished them both off with some yellow enamel dots.

I added the whole panel onto a standard A2 white card base and popped up the image of foam dots.
