Cute Card Thursday - Things with Wings

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Things with Wings'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super cute stamp I found in my stash. I'm not sure of the brand but it is an old wooden block stamp from Michaels I bought years ago!

I used some Tim Holtz 'Worn Lipstick' distress oxide to add a little color to the plain background and then stamped the image on top.
I stamped the image with black memento ink and then heat embossed it with fine transparent embossing powder. I added a little stickles to the santa hats (difficult to see in this photo) and some white gel pen for a little dimension.
I added some patterned wash tape for a little color down the side, with some black and white baker's twine.
The sentiment tags and brad are from my stash (I think they may be simple stories).

We are sponsored this week by Star Stampz, a great prize as always!

Cute Card Thursday - Stars

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Stars'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super cute image from Bugaboo Stamps - Reindeer Blocks.

I love that these images are separate blocks and can be printed out as they are or manipulated as I have done.
I printed out the 3 reindeer blocks and colored them using my prismacolor pencils.
I didn't want the sentiment in a block for my design, so I put it into my Silhouette Design Studio and split it up and moved it around till I had it how I wanted it. I then printed it out on the background sheet.
The patterned papers are from my stash and I added a little hand stitching for interest.
As the theme for this challenge was stars, I added some circle and star sequins to the card to finish it off.

Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Gift Tags

Anyone who follows me here or on Facebook, know I am OBSESSED with Crissy Armstrong's penguins at Whimsy Stamps. I decided to use them for the family gift tags this year. I have used the rubber stamp Penguin Candy Cane and the digital stamp Penguin Saint Nick from Whimsy Stamps.

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut them out.
The sentiments are from the Oh What Fun and In the Backyard clear stamp sets.
The enamel dots are from Whimsy Stamps Christmas Cheer collection.
I used papers and twine from my stash.

Cute Card Thursday - Birds/Animals

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Birds/Animals'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I'm loving the new 'Kinda Cute' stamps by artist Patricia Alvarez.
This one is a digital stamp called Bear with Cup.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils.
I stamp some snowflakes from Whimsy Stamps Snow Flurry clear stamp set and heat embossed them in white embossing powder for a subtle background effect.
The sentiment is from Desert Diva's blog.
The papers and twine are from my stash.
I wanted to keep the card quite plain and simple and let the image shine.

We are sponsored this week by Di's Digi Stamps, a great prize as always!

Hope you can join us!

I am also entering this card into November's Kinda Cute Anything Goes Facebook challenge

Whimsy Stamps Challenge #101 - Anything Goes

It is the start of a new challenge over on the Whimsy Inspires Challenge blog, with the theme as always 'Anything Goes'.

I used this adorable rubber stamp from Sylvia Zet - Wishlist.

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.

I cut out some tags using the Stitched Tag dies and the window frame using a die from the Shaker Builder - Sweetest Birthday set. I used some vellum behind the frame to give it a more muted effect to the paper behind.
The sentiment is a new chipboard element from Whimsy Stamps - Christmas Adapt-a-words chipboard. These are super light and can be colored easily with pens.
The papers are from my stash, and I used white and black gel pens to add some stitching details.
I used some twine and bells to wrap around the frame and some enamel dots from the Christmas Cheer collection.

Thanks for looking.

It's the MOOSE wonderful time of the year

It's been a while since I've had time to play with My Favorite Things stamps and sketches, but this is a stamp set which I just adore. This is 'Merry Christmoose' - lots of fun images and sentiments in this set to mix and match.

I used my prismacolor pencils to color the images and then fussy cut them out.
I used the current sketch #358 for inspiration for the design of the card.

I switched out the circle for a rectangle from the blueprints set #32 which I popped up and backed with vellum. The sentiment was stamped from the set and the banners are cut from blueprints set #13.

The papers are from Doodlebug's gingham-linen rainbow petite prints 6x6 paper pad, with the twine and enamel dots from my stash.

I am also entering this card into the current blueprints challenge - right this way - using directional elements.

Thanks for looking.

Cute Card Thursday - Sparkles

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Sparkles'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

The image I chose this month from All Dressed Up Stamps is 'Snowy Days'.

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and added a few sequins to the snowballs for a little sparkle.
I decided to make this card into a shaker card for the theme of the challenge and to match in the snowballs and snowflakes on the image.
The papers, twine and sequins are all from my stash.
I purposely colored the snowman details in red and greens to make him pop from the background and card.

We are sponsored this week by All Dressed Up Stamps, a great prize as always!

Whimsy Stamps - Oh What Fun!

I love this new stamp by Deb Davis for Whimsy Stamps - Oh What Fun!
It really is a fun stamp and just my kind of humor!

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils and used the coordinating die set to cut them all out.
As this set has so many fun elements, I decided I wanted to make it a little more 3D and so made it into a shadow box card (using a die from Lawn Fawn). This can still be folded flat and put in an envelope to mail.
I added a little colored, patterned paper to the outside of the box and stamped a sentiment from the set onto the matching paper. I then heat embossed this with white embossing powder.

These shadow box cards are super simple and easy to make - something fun and a little bit different!

I used the super cute 'Snowman Tidings' Clear Stamp set and coordinating dies.

I colored the images using my prismacolor pencils and then cut them out using the coordinating dies.
I have so many gift cards to give this Christmas that I decided to make some gift card holders. This was made using a die from Lil Inker Designs.

I used some twine from my stash - matching the coloring on the snowman to this. The sentiment was from the snowman tidings set and stamped directly onto the gift card base. I added an enamel dot from the Christmas Cheer collection for a little interest and color.

Whimsy Stamps November Release Previews - Day 3

Welcome to November's preview of Clear & Rubber Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

We have 5 whole days of previews on the Whimsy Facebook page and Whimsy Inspirations Blog, with the 7th being the main release day with all of the stamps (rubber & clear) and dies available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

So anyone that knows me, knows I don't celebrate Thanksgiving and I don't usually do mixed media projects. This is COMPLETELY out of the box for me, but the new Leaf Foliage dies inspired me!!!

There is also NO COLORING not his project - another first for me!!

I found this charger plate on clearance and thought it would make the perfect base for this project. I had some wide burlap ribbon and twine in my stash which I used to break up the circle shapes. I used my silhouette to cut out the larger circles fro the inside of the charger.

I used the stitched tag die set in 2 sizes with papers from my stash. I added the greeting from a simple stories 6x6 paper pad. The 'Thanks' banner was cut using the Card Builder - Many Thanks die set. I used the negative from the die and made it into a banner. I also used the small heart die in the set to embellish the tags, along with some thin twine made into a bow.

The foliage bouquet was cut using the Leaf Foliage 1 die set and a variety of authentique papers from my stash.

I'm super pleased with how this has turned out - something new for and actually quite fun to make!

Whimsy Stamps November Digital Stamp Release

Welcome to November's release of Digital Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store
All of the new digital stamps are now available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this adorable digital image from Crissy Armstrong - Penguin Three Kings.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
The sentiment is from the Christmas Joyful and Triumphant digital set.

I made this at the latest retreat and got to use one of the new additions to the Whimsy Store - the Circle Shadow Box Chipboard Set - which I covered using papers from my stash. I managed to drop my inkpad onto the top of this finished decoration!!! ARGHHH! It was then suggested to me that I should distress the circle all the way round. It is not how I intended the finished product but I don't think it looks too bad!

I used the Christmas Branches die set, layered with the old holly die (now discontinued) as the accent, finished with some red enamel dots from the Christmas Cheer collection.

This is also my card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge this week - Anything Goes. We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps - a great prize as always.

Hope to see you joining in the challenge for your chance to win.

Whimsy Stamps November Release Previews - Day 1

Welcome to November's preview of Clear & Rubber Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

We have 5 whole days of previews on the Whimsy Facebook page and Whimsy Inspirations Blog, with the 7th being the main release day with all of the stamps (rubber & clear) and dies available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this super sweet rubber stamp by Sylvia Set called 'Eleanor'.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut her out.
I wanted the image to be the main focus of the card and so kept the rest of the card pretty simple.
The papers are from Simple Stories 'Claus & Co' - including the patterned paper with the sentiment and stars on!
A super easy and simple card to make.
