MFT Color Challenge #84

These gnomes from the stamps set 'You Gnome Me' at My Favorite Things have got to be one of my favorite sets. They are so fun and cheeky!

I stamped the gnomes onto white cardstock, along with patterned cardstock for paper piecing later. I colored parts of the images using my prismacolor pencils and fussy cut them out.
I used a variety of MFT papers to add some pattern to the gnomes clothes. I used some orange fizz paper from the country flair plaid 6x6 paper pack, along with some cornflour paper from the proper pinstripes 6x6 paper pack. I paper pieced these onto the white stamped gnomes for added detail.
I used the sentiment from the stamp set on lemon chiffon cardstock.
I cut out a Peek-a-Boo Wonky Window from the white cardstock panel, and backed it with cornflour bundles of blossoms brights 6x6 paper.
This was all mounted onto a dark blue background cardstock.
I added some bakers twine and enamel dots to finish the card off.

MFT Sketch #365

I just adore these Bitty Bear stamps from My Favorite Things - there are endless possibilities. I used this week's My Favorite Things sketch #365 for inspiration to make this fun birthday card for my daughter's friend (my daughter chose all the elements - I just colored it and put it together!)

I stamped the bitty bears and extra presents and cupcakes, and then colored them in with my prismacolor pencils and zig markers. I fussy cut them out.
I created the background grid using the smallest of the Double Stitched Square STAX dies (now retired).
I used the Because You stamp and die set for the sentiment and banner.
I popped a couple of the presents up on pop dots for a little dimension.

My son passed his driving test last week, so I made this super quick and easy CAS style card.
I used one of Mo's Digital Pencil images - Jack Driving.

I colored the image using my zig brush color markers.
The sentiment is a freebie from Desert Diva's blog, which I printed out and popped up on foam tape.
I used blue papers and enamel dots from my stash.

MFT Sketch #364

I finally made something OTHER than a Christmas! First time in a while!
I used this week's My Favorite Things sketch #364 for inspiration to make this fun birthday card.

I used the Mini Mail die-namics to make the little envelopes and notecard out of Party Patterns and Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots papers. I used the coordinating Big Birthday Wishes stamp set for the sentiment on the note card.
I added balloons coming out go one of the envelopes using the Birthday Balloons die-namics.
I used the large Celebrate die on both the red and black cardstock to add a shadow effect to the word.
The cardstock background is blue yonder, while the twine and gel pen are from my stash.

MFT Sketch #363 & Color Challenge #83

I found some time to make another simple Christmas card completing the current sketch AND color challenges!!!

I used the Chill Wishes stamp set to stamps the penguins and colored them with my prismacolor pencils and zig color brush markers, matching the colors to the color challenge. I used the matching Chill Wishes die-namics to cut them out with my Cuttlebug.
I used the stitched dome STAX and stitched snow drifts dies to create the background for the penguins.
I used the sentiment from the Chill Wishes stamp set, and stamped directly onto  MFT's Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots 6x6 paper in 'latte'.
I added a snowflake and enamel dot from my stash, and finished the card off with some stitching which I drew on using a white gel pen.

Whimsy Stamps Challenge #102 - Anything Goes

It is the start of a new challenge over on the Whimsy Inspires Challenge blog, with the theme as always 'Anything Goes'.

I'm a bit of a Jennifer McGuire fan on YouTube and recently found her video on alcohol ink backgrounds (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgDLKkLGABQ).
Well I just had to try this!
I already had a card design in mind and was looking for a fun, bright background - this was perfect.

I used Tim Holtz 'watermelon' and 'sailboat blue' alcohol inks with some 'snow cap' fixative for this card. I love how bright the background turned out.
I used white cardstock and Whimsy Stamps Funky Christmas Tree die. I added some white stickles to the star on the top (although it didn't photograph well!)
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps In My Backyard clear stamp set (retired).

Thanks for looking.

For more inspiration from the design team, and to enter the challenge, please check out the Challenge Blog.
Hope to see you joining in our challenge this month.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Cute Card Thursday - Festive Colors

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Festive Colors'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

The image I chose this month from All Dressed Up Stamps is
'Christmas Hair Do'.

I colored the image using prismacolor pencils and added a few rhinestones to the baubles in her hair for a little bling.
I used paper from Simple Stories 'Handmade Holiday' collection, which matched perfectly to the colors of my image.
I added some bling and baker's twine from my stash for a quick and easy card.

Whimsy Stamps - Penguin Winter Adventure Tags

This is an older Whimsy Stamps set, but another cutie! This is Penguins Winter Adventure by the awesome owner Denise Lynn.

My daughter needed tags for all of her friends Christmas presents - and of they all had to be similar but in each of their favorite colors!!!
I stamped the penguins onto white cardstock using black tuxedo memento ink.
I then colored each one using my zig brush color markers (according to my daughters instructions!!) and fussy cut them out.
I used the stitched tag dies and the hand stitched nested rectangle dies to cut out the shaker tags.
I used the full tag for the bottom layer.
I used a fun foam sheet to cut the full tag (with a rectangle out of the middle) for the 'filler' layer.
I cut out a full tag from actetate for the next layer.
The final layer was cut out of white cardstock with the rectangle middle cut out.
All of these were glued together with Tombow Multi liquid glue - the sequins being added in between the 2nd and 3rd layers. These of course had to match the colors too!
I hand cut the banner name tags, popped the images up on from dots and added some matching baker's twine to finish them off.
Super cute and easy to make!

Don't forget the December deals too! These are far too good to pass up.

MFT Sketch #362 & Color challenge #82

It's been a while since I had the time to join in with My Favorite Things sketch or color challenges. I managed to get some time today to make a simple Christmas card completing both challenges!!!

I used the Polar Bear Pals stamp set to stamps the bears and colored them with my prismacolor pencils and zig color brush markers, matching the colors to the color challenge. I then fussy cut them out and popped them up on foam dots.
I cut out the circles from the white cardstock background and added the striped papers from MFT's Painted Prints Citrus 6x6 paper pack (using the cornflour and blu raspberry colors) behind.
The sentiment was stamped from the Bitty Bears stamp set, onto MFT's Country Flair Plaid 6x6 paper pad coral crush paper.
The background was then put onto a lemon chiffon colored card base.
