Cute Card Thursday - Valentines

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Valentines'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used the super cute 'Always on my Mind' digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps for this card.

I printed out the image and colored her in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers.

I used Whimsy Stamps Wonky Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the panel.

I stamped the sentiment onto the panel using Whimsy Stamps Soul Sisters stamp set.

I adhered the panel onto the patterned paper background, using paper from Whimsy Stamps Rainbow 6x6 paper pack.

This was all adhered onto a standard A2 white top folding card base.

I love the simplicity of this card, but it still packs a punch!

We are sponsored this week by Bugaboo Stamps, a great prize as always!

Gina K Designs Tapestry stamp 'Love & Hugs'

I was super excited when I saw Gina K demonstrating this stamp set before Christmas I knew I just had to have it! The Holiday Tapestry stamp set is designed to be used for Christmas and Hanukkah, but really the gorgeous floral design can be used all year round. People who know me know I am not a huge flower person, but this stamp just 'spoke' to me! Lol!

I decided to use this stamp set to make my hubby's Valentine card this year.

I have also been spending far too much time watching YouTube videos! I watched a video from Jennifer McGuire on techniques for using white ink on cards too. This was inspired by  her video.

I used the Holiday Tapestry stamp set to stamp the flowers onto red cardstock with Versamark ink. I used some of the smaller flowers and leaves in the set to fill in the gaps. I then heat embossed this with clear embossing powder.

I used some Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment ink with MFT's Candy Stripes stencil to create the fun white lines. I removed the stencil and then wiped down the heat embossing to remove the white ink. I then reheated the embossing to bring back the shine. I love how this turned out. I cut down the panel to fit onto the white card panel.

I then used the Gina K love die from the 'A Little Love Layering Stencil Bundle' and cut it 3 times from black cardstock. I then layered them all together. I stamped the sentiment AND HUGS from the 'A Little Love' stamp set directly onto the white card panel.

I adhered the panel onto a standard A2 black card base and finished off the card with some red hearts from Gina K's embellishment pack - Rainbow Hearts.
I love how this card has turned out, and hopefully the hubby will too!

Cute Card Thursday - Birthdays

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Birthdays'
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used the new Balloon Bunny digital stamp from Whimsy Stamps.

I printed out the image designed by Some Odd Girl and colored it in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I then fussy cut it out.

I used Whimsy Stamps Slimline Postage die to cut out the white background panel, and also some paper from Whimsy Stamps Chilly 6x6 paper pack, to create an ombre 'sky' effect.

I printed out the sentiment from the Big Wishes digital sentiment set and die cut this also using the slimline postage die.

I adhered the postage background onto a navy slimline card base and pieced in the colored papers and sentiment panels.

I added some white gel pen detailing around the edge of the card. and popped up the bunny on foam dots.

Cute Card Thursday - What's New?

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'What's New?'
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used the new 'Another Door Opens - Noah' digital stamp
from Whimsy Stamps.

I merged the image of Noah together with the image of the slingshot in my Silhouette design studio, and then printed it out. I colored it in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers, and then fussy cut it out.

I stamped the background using Whimsy Stamps Path in the Woods and again colored it with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I used Whimsy Stamps Wonky Stitched Rectangles dies to cut out the background panel. I adhered this onto some green cardstock slightly larger and then onto a standard A2 white card base.

I stamped the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps Camping Dragons stamp set and then fussy cut it into a banner. I adhered this to the top left side of the card and popped up the image with foam dots.

I love how well the background stamp worked with the main image.

Fusion Card Challenge with Gerda Steiner image

I am loving spending some time creating with whatever images I like and joining in some challenges.

I was inspired by the current Fusion Challenge sketch and theme, and it worked perfectly for the freebie Gerda Steiner digital image 'Coffee Mouse'. I have been dying to use this image!

Here is the fusion challenge:

I decided to use the sketch AND the hot drink/black & white theme from the photo.

Here is my card:

I love how this turned out! I did rotate the sketch 180 degrees to fit my image and sentiment better.

I printed the Coffee Mouse image and sentiment onto white cardstock and colored the image in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I then fussy cut him out.

I cut the white cardstock panel containing the printed sentiment to measure 3 5/8" x 4 7/8'.

I used papers from MFT's Its Bitsy Polka Dots and Black & white stripes paper packs. I then adhered the panel onto a piece of black cardstock measuring 3.75" x 5".

I adhered this onto a standard A2 red card base and finished off the card by popping up the image on foam dots!

A quick and easy, CAS card.
I will also be adding this card into the Share Your Designs challenge over on the Gerda Steiner website.

MFT Sketch #523 & The Card Concept #146

I found lots of inspiration this week, which led me to another challenge blog...The Card Concept! This is a new one for me but looks like a lot of fun! They do a photo inspiration challenge every 2 weeks...here is the current challenge photo #146:

I was inspired by the winter warmth theme, snowflakes and of course the hot drinks. I decided to pair this challenge with My Favorite Things current sketch challenge #523:

Here is the card I created using combining the 2 challenges:

I started by using MFT's Simple Snowflake background stamp (now retired) on white and red cardstock (pulling in the colors from the inspiration photo). I heat embossed with white on red cardstock, and stamped with red ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on the white cardstock. I then cut these down into panels following the sketch.

I stamped the images from MFT's Sweater Weather in the Woods stamp set and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I then fussy cut them out. How adorable are these animals holding their coffee cups??!!

I stamped the sentiment using MFT's Hug in a Mug stamp set and fussy cut the sentiment strip, adhering it to some red cardstock to make it pop.

I then adhered the panel onto some black cardstock and then a standard A2 green card base (to tie in the colors of the sweaters).

I love how this card turned out - the inspiration photo with the sketch worked perfectly.

Cute Card Thursday - Anything Goes

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Anything Goes'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used the adorable Crissy Armstrong digi - Bunny Spring Squares available from Whimsy Stamps for this card. I colored the image using Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers and fussy cut the panel out.

I used Whimsy Stamps Flower Puffs background stamp along with Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink to create the patterned panel. I didn't have any matching colored cardstock in my stash, so I used the same distress oxide ink to color up a piece of white cardstock, before using the Whimsy Stamps Kinetic Straight Basics die to create the scalloped border.

I put the colored pieces together and adhered them onto a white cardstock panel measuring 4" x 5.25".

I stamped the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps Soul Sisters stamp set and die cut the banner using Whimsy Stamps Quick Strips die. I adhered this onto the cardstock panel and popped up the image square on foam tape.

I adhered this onto a top folding standard A2 white card base and fished it off with some enamel dots.

Such a cute set of images in the set - definitely worth the money!

MFT Sketch #522 & Color Combo #156 - Hang in There

It's so much fun to create just to join in a challenge! I loved this week's sketch #522 from My Favorite Things.

I also. decided to combine the current color challenge #156 in this card as it worked perfectly for the stamps I had chosen.

I used the adorable Best Adventure Bears stamp set and colored the image with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I added some white gel pen detailing and die cut it out using the coordinating die set.

I stamped the City Block Background stamp onto some white cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then used MFT Cement Gray ink to ink blend an ombre effect over the top. I then fussy cut one of the lines of houses. I used the Mini Cloud Edges stencil to ink blend the sky and added the city block on top.

I cut a white cardstock panel measuring 4" x 5.25" and used the Jumbo Peek-a-boo Circle window die (now retired) to cut out the hole in the middle. I then added the scene to the back of the panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Best Adventure Bears stamp set and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I then used the Skinny Strips dies to cut it out.

The image and sentiment strip were then added onto the cardstock panel, which was then adhered onto a standard A2 top folding card base.

I finished off the card with some enamel hearts to match the sketch.
I love how this card turned out - the sketch worked perfectly.

I am also entering this card into Timeout Challenge #178 'Life in the City', with the optional twist of ink blending or sponging.

Whimsy Stamps January Digital stamp release

Happy New Year!!

It's the start of a new year and a new month - so that means a new digital stamp release from Whimsy Stamps! I used the adorable 'Another Door Opens - Sally' for this card.

I printed out the image and then colored her in with my Spectrum Noir Tri-blend markers. I then fussy cut her out.

I cut out a white cardstock panel and stamped the hello sentiment using the FaDoodles Frames clear stamp set. I then added the image to this panel.

For the background panel I used the Military Camo Background stamp with Versafine Clair Glamorous ink. A weird choice I know, but I thought the pattern looked good behind the white panel...there was not enough of the 'camo' style really showing.

Another great release this month...check out the Whimsy Stamps store for lots of great new digital images.
