Cute Card Thursday - Vintage

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Vintage'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this super cute digi from AliciaBel.com called 'Ice Skating Princess'.
I thought she had a little bit of a vintage-y feel about her!

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut her out.

I used a snow flurry embossing folder to give the white background some texture, with  he rest of the papers coming from Fancy Pants 'Blissful Blizzard' collection. The sentiment is also from that collection.

I finished it off with some baker's twine from My Mind's Eye 'Winter Wonderland' which coordinated perfectly.

We are sponsored this week by Aliciabel.com, a great prize as always!

Whimsy Stamps - Teddy Christmas

Here is one of the cards I made at this year's Whimsy Stamps retreat. This class was taught by the awesome Faye Wynne Jones using one of Lee Holland's teddy bears - 'Teddy Christmas'.

Faye is an awesome copic colorist and regularly teaches classes. I have tried using copics and it looks like a 2 year old has done my work! I just can't get the hang of using the pens. I took her advice and watched her coloring, and then adapted it to coloring with my prismacolor pencils.

I added some flower soft to the hat for a little more texture and then copied the layout of the card she had made.
The sentiment is from the Scripty Occasions clear stamp set, with a little doodling on the card from me.

If you didn't make it to the retreat this year, you definitely should try and make it next year! I think we are aiming for Florida in June 2018.

Cute Card Thursday - Snowflakes

It's a very special challenge today on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog as it is our 500th Challenge!

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Snowflakes'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

This card was inspired by and started in Alanna Moses class at this year's Whimsy Stamps retreat. It was so much fun - although my card took a twist to the original design.

I decided to use this awesome Snow Flurry Background Stamp, from this month's new rubber stamp release at Whimsy Stamps.

I stamped the background using Versamark's Watermark stamp pad, and then heat embossed it with white fine embossing powder. It really makes the image pop! I then used a gold metallic watercolor paint to paint over the background. I used a dry paper towel to remove any paint that covered the heat embossed background.

The sentiment is from the Scripty Occasions clear stamp set - again this was stamped in watermark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.
The sentiment card was edged using the Hand Stitched border die.

This was all finished off with gold baker's twine.

Whimsy Stamps - 31 Nights of Halloween

https://whimsystamps.blogspot.com/2017/09/whimsy-stamps-31-nights-of-halloween.html

Hello and welcome to Night 10 of Whimsy Stamps 31 Nights of Halloween event. It is my turn to post on the blog tonight!
I used the awesome Dracula Bite Me clear stamp set designed by Deb Davis.

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out. The sentiment is from the same set, which I stamped using Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed with white embossing powder to make it pop. I cut this into a banner and added some stitching using a white gel pen.

The patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye. I cut out a square in the white cardstock before mounting it onto the patterned paper for a little more interest and dimension. I doodled onto the cardstock using a fine black pen and added  some enamel dots from the Christmas Cheer collection for a little color.

I added a pull out tag to the card for a simple sentiment or gift card to be added. I used another image and sentiment from the Dracula Bite Me clear stamp set. I finished it off with some sparkly red ribbon.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the Whimsy Stamps blog to see all of the 31 Nights of Halloween creations - there are some great designs coming up!

Happy Crafting :)

This is such a cute image - I love seeing the penguin in different outfits!

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
I used the frame die from the Shaker Builder - Sweetest Birthday die set to cut out the black frame. I then frame a 'soccer card' from Echo Park's 'Goal' collection. The banner was from the same set - cut out, rearranged and 'popped up' for more interest and dimension. A little bakers twine finished the card off!

Whimsy Stamps October Release Preview - Day 4

Welcome to October's preview of Clear & Rubber Stamps at the Whimsy Stamps store

We have 6 whole days of previews on the Whimsy Facebook page and Whimsy Inspirations Blog, with the 7th being the main release day with all of the rubber and clear stamps, and dies available in the Whimsy Store!

And don't forget about the Customer Appreciation Stamp Set - revealed on the 7th of the month - and free to all customers who spend $75 or more on a single retail order in the Whimsy Store!

I used this adorable stamp from Krista Heij-Barber - Dancing in the Snow!
This penguin is just so adorable and fun!

I colored the image using my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut it out.
I used the new 'Snow Flurry' background stamp, which I stamped in Versamark's watermark ink. I then heat embossed this with fine, white embossing powder. I used colorbox ink to ink over the background, wiping it with a dry kitchen towel when covered, to remove it from the embossed pattern. This really made the background pop!
I used the Whimsy Stamps 'stitched border trio dies' to create the snow hill.
I die cut the sentiment NAMES OF DIE a number of times, and stacked them together to make it stand out a little more.

I used this gorgeous background stamp 'Snow Flurry'. I used grey ink on the stamp and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, and mounting it onto grey cardstock, to make the image 'pop'.

I used the snowflake die set to cut out 2 different sized snowflakes, layering the on top of each other and finishing off with a little bling.
