Cute Card Thursday - Autumn

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Autumn'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I am just loving all of the Lawn Fawn products available, and I combined some old and some new products for this card.

The main images are from the Jump For Joy stamp set, an older Lawn Fawn Set. I stamped the images and colored them with my prismacolor pencils, fussy cutting them out afterwards.

I used the newer Knock on Wood paper paper along with the Say Cheese, again lawn cuts to cut out the photo frame. I wanted some grass at the bottom of the 'picture' so improvised by using the Road Border lawn cut to get the stitched hillside look (for some reason I don't own a stitched hillside die from Lawn Fawn!!?!) I used the Knit Picky Fall papers for the grass and the blue back panel on the card.

I adhered the photo frame and images onto the back panel and stamped the sentiment from the same Jump for Joy stamp set. I adhered this panel onto a standard A2 white card base and finished it off with some shape sprinkle hearts from Doodlebug.

We are sponsored this week by Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, a great prize as always. I hope to see you joining in the challenge this month.

I am also adding this card to the current Lawnfawnatics challenge #37 - Something Old, Something New.

Thanks for looking!

Hello Summer

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick blog today with a clean and simple card using Neat & Tangled 'Hello Summer' stamp set.
This stamp set is available from the Crafty Doodle Chick Store.

I stamped the'background' sentiment group and the sun in Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then used abandoned coral, spiced marmalade and squeezed lemonade inks to blend the background. I used a kitchen towel to wipe any excess ink off the heat embossing.

I stamped the hello summer onto the panel using black ink and then wrapped some bakers twine around the panel.

This panel was then adhered onto a fun foam panel and then onto a standard A2 white card base.

A quick and easy card anyone can make!

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the Crafty Doodle Chick blog every day for lots of inspiration from the rest of the design team

MFT Sketch #403 & Color Challenge #101

So this Pure Innocence stamp set is new to me - and again,  I just love her! This stamp is 'Happy Birthday to You'.

I decided to use the color combo and sketch challenges for inspiration this week, and paper pieced most of the image. I used Bundles of Blossoms Brights, Calm & Cozy Chevron (now retired), Country Flair Plaid (now retired) and Gray & White Basics (now retired). I matched the colored papers to the color challenge and finished off the image by coloring her hair, skin and shoes with copic markers.

I added the extra gray color paper for the background to match the sketch but I think it makes the pop even more from the card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I love how this card turned out!

Without further ado, let me share another one of the projects I created with this amazing kit.

I started by stamping the candy corns using a Gina K wreath builder stencil to stamp them in a circle. I colored them in using my zig clean color brush markers. I stamped the sentiment using the new 'You're My Boo' clear stamp set. I then adhered this panel onto black and black/white striped card from my stash. I adhere this onto a square card base and finished the card off with enamel dots from the Summer Breeze collection.

I love the clear treat bags in the kit and just had to add some Reese's chocolates for the treats (i must admit these are my favorite - but they match the colors well too!). I used the 'Tombstone Tag die set' from the kit for the topper on the bags. I used 2 different sizes to cut out the white and sparkly orange tags, folding them in half to caret the topper. I used the coordinating 'Corny Candy Corns' die set from the kit to cut out some of the small candy corns from white cardstock. I then drew the faces on with a white gel pen. I stuck these to the tags and voila!! Super cute treat bags.

I love that this kit includes treat bags too this month. I love to make matching cards and gifts.

Now, if you want to get your hands on this awesome kit, be sure to place your order by September 25th.  You don’t want to miss this one, I promise!

Cute Card Thursday - Monochrome

Our theme at Cute Card Thursday this week is 'Monochrome'.
As always, we welcome your own interpretation.

I used this adorable stamp from Whimsy Stamps - 'Espresso-ly Great'.

I stamped the images and then colored them in using my prismacolor pencils. I then used my scan'n cut to cut out. I added wink of stella to the cups for a little sparkle.

I die cut some vellum using the new Whimsy Stamps 'Peekaboo Window 1 die'. I added some coffee beans from the Espresso-ly Great stamp set using white Stazon ink.

I stamped the sentiment from the Espresso-ly Great stamp set using VersaFine Clair 'Paradise' ink pad. I then cut this into a thin strip and adhered to the vellum.

I cut a panel of blue textured cardstock from my stash and attached the vellum panel on top. I used glue behind the images so it wouldn't show through.

This was then adhered to a standard A2 card base.

We are sponsored this week by Di's Digi Stamps, a great prize as always!

Hope you can join us!

Happy Holidays

I'm up on the Crafty Doodle Chick blog today with a mixture of Avery Elle and MFT goodness!
These stamps and dies are available from the Crafty Doodle Chick Store.

I stamped the images from Avery Elle's 'A Merry Little Christmas' stamp set and colored them in using my prismacolor pencils. I then used my Scan'n Cut to cut them out.

I die cut the photo frame using Avery Elle's 'Photo Mat' die and adhered the images inside and out of the frame. I tied a bow around the frame using some twine from my stash.

I die cut a variety of snowflakes using MFT's 'Layered Snowflakes' die-namic and adhered them to a white panel for a simple background. I popped up the photo frame on pop dots and added to the snowflake panel.

I stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle's 'Polar Peek-a-boo Pals' stamp set. I used Versamark watermark ink and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I then die cut this into a banner and popped it up on foam dots.

This panel was then adhered to a standard A2 top folding white card base.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out the Crafty Doodle Chick blog every day for lots of inspiration from the rest of the design team

Without further ado, let me share another one of the projects I created with this amazing kit.

I started out by stamping the candy corn image a number of times and cutting them out using the coordinating dies in the kit. I only colored 2 of the images as I wanted them to pop against the black and white background.

I cut a panel of white cardstock to measure 4" x 5 1/4". I used one of the treat bags to add a striped panel onto the bottom half of the main panel. I then added a strip of the sparkly orange cardstock and some of the thin ribbon along the centre. I adhered the candy corns onto the top of the card in a 'pile', popping up the colored image on pop dots.

I stamped the sentiment from the set, using Versamark watermark ink on black cardstock. I heat embossed it with white embossing powder and cut it into a banner. I adhered this onto the side of the striped panel. I added this panel onto a standard A2 black card base. I finished the card with some of the 'ripened pumpkin' Nuvo drops.

I matched the striped treat bag to this card. I kept it very simple and added a band of black cardstock and a banner of orange sparkly cardstock to the front of the bag. I used the tombstone tag doe that comes in the kit to make the tag. I punched a hole in the top and attached it using some black and white bakers twine from my stash. Again this was finished off with some of the Nuvo drops.

I love that this kit includes treat bags too this month. I love to make matching cards and gifts.

Now, if you want to get your hands on this awesome kit, be sure to place your order by September 25th.  You don’t want to miss this one, I promise!

MFT Dance & Twirl

This is the first year I have plucked up enough courage to enter my cards in to the My Favorite Things 2018 Card Design Superstar. This year I thought 'WHY NOT??'

So here is my entry into the Innovation Master Category:

So this category had me a little baffled for a while. I didn't want to do the regular slider, lift the flap, pop up card that I have seen lots of people doing - I wanted to do something different. When I was looking through my MFT goodness, I spotted the 'Tu-tu Sweet' Pure Innocence girl and had a sudden flash of inspiration - she would make the perfect spinner card! And so the idea was born!

I began by stamping out the image, and also stamping out a 'mirror image' for the back of the spinning girl. I used a mirror image stamp to make this - not the perfect stamp of the image but I used a black ink pen to add in any lines that were dull or missing. I colored both of these images using prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut them out.

I used some 'Cotton Candy prestige cardstock to cut out the front panel of the card, using the rectangle die-namic from 'Blueprints #21' (now retired). I then used the 'Inside/Out Stitched rectangle STAX' die-namics' to cut out the window in the card.

I used the heart stamp from the 'Love is in the mail' stamp set and stamped in Versamark Watermark ink all around the pink frame to create a background pattern. I then heat embossed this with clear embossing powder.

I stamped the sentiment from the 'Tu-tu Sweet' stamp set in black ink and then heat embossed this with clear embossing powder to make it pop.

I then used some fine fishing line and stuck it vertically to the back of one of the dancers. I then adhered the other dancer onto the back, so there is an image on both sides when the card is spinning. I then attached this fishing line to the back of the top and bottom of the pink frame.

I took a standard A2 top folding card base and cut a window out of the from, using the 'Inside & Out Stitched rectangle STAX' die-namics - lining it up with the pink panel and window already cut out.

I then attached the pink frame onto the card base, making sure to line up the windows.

I finished the card off with some of the bubblegum paper from the 'Country Flair Plaid' 6x6 paper pad (now retired) inside the card - giving the image a pop of color in the background.

I am adding this to the Innovation Master category of this years 2018 Card Design Superstar contest.

Fingers crossed.

MFT Best Times

This is the first year I have plucked up enough courage to enter my cards in to the My Favorite Things 2018 Card Design Superstar. This year I thought 'WHY NOT??'

So here is my entry into the Coloring Virtuoso Category:

II have never used masking tape to mask off images and create one large image before, so this was new to me. (I usually stamp them out separately, color, fussy cut and stack them onto the card). This was a lot more difficult than I thought, and I made a couple of mistakes, but I was happy with the end result!

I used 'Cool Day' (now retired), 'Jingle all the Way', 'Beast Friends' and 'Polar Bear Pals' to stamp the main piece of the theme. I also used the 'Stitched Mountain Range' die-namic (now retired) and 'Stitched Snow Drifts' die-namic to create the background scene with an archival ink black pen.

I used my prismacolor pencils to color the images - using the pencils themselves to blend and add texture. I added some white and black gel pen detailing onto one of the presents and the yeti's scarf.

I stamped the sentiment from the 'Polar Bear Pals' stamp set and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I used MFT's Grout Gray ink with a stippling brush to add the gray ink to the mountains - pouncing it on to add texture. I had hand drawn the snow caps onto masking tape and masked these off before inking. I added wink of stella to the snow caps and the sign.

I finished the card by adding some shadows underneath the images and around the snow hills.

I am adding this to the Coloring Virtuoso category of this years 2018 Card Design Superstar contest.

Fingers crossed.
