This is the first challenge for June over on the Paper Secrets blog.
Remember - there is a twist to the challenges!
Here is the sketch:
And the twist to this challenge is to use a treat bag/envelope!
For my layout, I used Echo Park's 'Brother's' mini collection kit and the chevron treat bag from the Paper Secrets store.
I very rarely stamp onto my scrapbooking layouts - but looking at the sketch we were using - I decided I would rather stamp than mist! I used a 'Chevron Background' stamp from Jillibean Soup (produced by Unity Stamps). I didn't ink up the whole of the stamp as I wanted it a little rougher around the edges. I love how it turned out!
I will admit - I completed this layout and then remembered about the twist!!!! Of course - this was AFTER I had stuck it all down!!! I used lots of the journalling cards cut up, trimmed down etc for the embellishment clusters, and this tag can actually be removed from the treat bag, so is perfect for some hidden journalling.
The bracket frame was just cut from the outside of a journalling tag which I didn't really want on there - there was already enough white without adding any more to it.
I'd love to see you joining in the challenge for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the Paper Secrets shop.
See you over on the Paper Secrets blog!
Happy scrapping :-)
