World Cardmaking Day - Whimsy Stamps blog hop

World Cardmaking Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the art of handmade cards – whether made with construction paper and crayons or with more sophisticated supplies. As we crafters can all agree, a store-bought card, while nice, just can’t replace the personal and thoughtful nature of one made by hand.  

Today, the Whimsy Design Teams are honoring this craft with two hops – one here and another on Instagram. For each hop Whimsy is giving away a $25 gift certificate to the store. To increase your chances of winning, be sure to leave a comment on each stop of the hop. All comments must be left by midnight EST on Saturday, October 12th. One winner will be randomly-chosen from each hop, and the winners will be announced on the Whimsy blog on Sunday, October 13th.

Here is my Halloween themed card:

I used 'Bones', 'Frankie' and 'Jack' digital stamps, using the .png file and merging them together to make one image. i colored them with my prismacolor pencils and then fussy cut them out.

I die cut the orange frame using Whimsy Stamps Shaker Maker Rectangles die set. I used Whimsy Stamps Grass and Cloud Eder die set to cut the black cardstock.

I stamped the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps You're my Boo clear stamp set. I cut this into a banner shape and mounted onto black cardstock.

I popped the frame up on foam tape, mounted it onto a patterned cardstock panel from my stash, and added it to a standard A2 black card base.
